Disneyland After Dark tips to have the most fun

Heading to a Disneyland After Dark event? We are here to show you 5 tips to make the most out of your trip while having the most fun!

Disneyland After Dark tips to have the most fun

Disneyland After Dark is a super popular event at Disneyland. Every event has a different theme like Star Wars, Sweethearts for Valentine’s Day, and more. There is so much to do at these events like trying all of the exclusive food and drinks, meeting rare characters, and going on rides that have very low wait times! With only four hours to do everything you want, it can be hard to not feel overwhelmed! Here are five tips to make sure you have the most fun at your Disneyland After Dark event!

For more information on the After-Hour events, check out our post about everything you need to know.

Disneyland's mobile order app is where you can order after-hours food from different restaurants around the park.

1. Do your Moblie Order ahead of the event!

Disneyland will add the after-dark food and drinks to the mobile ordering section of the app on the morning of the event. If there is an item or more that you are really excited about, place the order as soon as you can! We have been to events in the past where the mobile ordering was down for the places we wanted to visit and the line to order in person was way too long and it would eat up too much of your time at the event.

This will mean you will have to plan to be at a certain place at a certain time but you can always cancel the order if it is not going to work out.

2. Get there before the event starts!

You are able to get into the park three hours before the event. I recommend getting there before eight o’clock. During that hour before the event starts, Disneyland will be telling the guests they will be closing in an hour. This means that the front of the park will be packed with people leaving and people coming in for the event.

3. Have a plan!

Another reason to come early to the park is to get a guide! They will hand this to you when you come into the event. The guide will tell you about the characters that you can meet, the food and drinks, merchandise, and the times for any of the entertainment happening. Head over to the Market Place to get some Starbucks aka a caffeine fix to last the night and make a plan with your party so you don’t miss anything!

Disney After Dark events will give guests an opportunity to meet rare Disney characters.

4. Character meetups!

There are so many rare and fan-favorite characters to meet during these events but sadly, the event is only four hours long and you could end up spending over an hour at one character meet-up! You won’t be able to see every single one of the characters so pick your favorites and head there first!

5. Save the more “popular” rides for later!

Rides like Haunted Mansion, Indiana Jones™ Adventure, and Space Mountian will end up being the busy rides during the event but if you wait until the last hour (12 am – 1 am), you will see the ones that had 60+ minutes to get on will go to a five minutes or no wait.
