Downtown Disney District is an outdoor shopping center that is filled with Disney-themed stores, unique finds, and delicious restaurants. Here we will tell you everything you need to know about Downtown Disney.

Downtown Disney District is part of the Disneyland Resort. You can find it right outside both of the parks and you don’t need a ticket to enter it. It is a great option if you want to experience the parks without the price of a ticket.

Is Downtown Disney Free?

Downtown Disney District is free for the public to enter. There is an Entertainment Stage where they do live music every night. There have all different kinds of music like Rock, Jazz, Motown, and more. There is plenty of places to do window shopping.

Does Downtown Disney have free parking?

Parking at Downtown Disney is not free. It’s $10 for the first hour and $14 for each hour after that (charged in 30-minute increments, with a minimum of $7). But don’t worry! You can get an additional 3 hours of parking with a $20 minimum purchase at any of the Downtown Disney shops or 5 additional hours if you eat at any of the seat-down restaurants (this doesn’t include the restaurants in the Disney Resort hotels)

Are pets allowed in Downtown Disney?

Pets are not allowed in Downtown Disney. Service Animals are allowed as long as they are a dog or a miniature horse. They must be on a leash or in a harness at all times. For more information on the animal policy, here.

Do I need a Disneyland reservation to get onto the Monorail?

Yes, you need a reservation for Disneyland to ride on the Monorail. It has two stops at Downtown Disney and the other is in the Disneyland parks (Tomorrowland). Heads up, if the weather is over 80 degrees, the Monorail will not run because it doesn’t have air conditioning.

What stores are at Downtown Disney?

Disney related stores

  • World of Color: This is where you can find all things Disney! There are apparel, toys, mugs, and more! You can find many things here that are sold in the Disney Parks!
  • Marceline’s Confectionery: This is where you can get treats like cupcakes, cookies, caramel apples, and more that you could find in the Disney Parks as well! They even have packaged food, coffee, and teas!
  • Disney Home: This is where you can find all things home-related that are Disney-themed. They have sections that are themed for your kitchen, living room, bedroom, and even a whole area for dogs and cats!
  • WonderGround Gallery: This is a boutique-style store that is filled with different Disney artworks, home decor, accessories, and apparel.
  • Disney’s Pin Traders: This is a kiosk filled with tons of pins that you can purchase and you can even trade your Disney Official pins there as well!
  • The Disney Dress Shop: This is a dress boutique shop that is filled with vintage-style dresses, apparel, and accessories.
  • Star Wars™ Trading Post: This store is all things Star Wars!

Non-related stores:

  • The LEGO® Store: This is a store that you can’t miss if you are heading to Downtown Disney! On the outside of the Lego store, they have life-sized Disney characters like Woody and Buzz and Belle and the Beast! They even have a fire-breathing Maleficent! On top of different Lego sets to pick from, they have a Minifigure Factory where you can make a Minifigure that looks like you!
  • Sephora: You can find all of your make-up, fragrances, and face care needs here! You can call for a beauty consultation where they can help you find the best make-up for your skin tone or a full makeover!
  • Kaman’s Art Shoppes, Inc. Letter Brush Art: This kiosk is where they will hand-paint beautiful pictures with your name or letters.
  • Lovepop®: You can get beautiful 3D pop-up cards here that are Disney-themed and other great designs!
  • Curl Surf: You can find all of your favorite beach styles here! A great section of clothing, swimwear, and more!
  • Pelé Soccer: Here you can find soccer clothing, shoes, and more! This store is named after Pelé, the legendary Brazilian superstar.
  • Sunglass Icon®: Need a new pair of sunglasses? This is where you can get them! They have a huge section of the hottest styles out there. They also have a second location in DowntownDisney.
  • PANDORA® Jewelry: This is where you can find beautiful one-of-a-kind charm bracelets, necklaces, rings, and more! You can find Disney-related items and other great options.
  • California Sole: You can find a great section of different kinds of shoes and sandals. You can find something for everyone in your family!

What restaurants are at Downtown Disney?

Table Service

  • Jazz Kitchen Coastal Grill & Patio: This is a table-service restaurant that specializes in Louisiana-inspired food. They are popular for their Jambalaya and Shrimp Grits! They also have outdoor seating.
  • Black Tap Craft Burgers & Beer: This restaurant is known for its burgers, fries, a long list of different kinds of beer, and huge Shakes! They have outdoor seating as well.
  • Naples Ristorante e Bar: This Italian restaurant has plenty of pizza, pasta, and salads to pick from! They have tons of different cocktails and even have Tiramisù and Gelato! They have a huge outdoor seating area!
  • Ballast Point® Brewing Co.: They have a huge menu filled with different kinds of sandwiches, salads, tacos, and even fish and chips! They even have brunch on Saturday and Sunday! 10 am-2 pm!
  • Splitsville Luxury Lanes: This is one of our favorite places to go! On top of the delicious food, you can also play a game or two of bowling! They even have tables right next to the bowling lanes so you can eat and play at the same time!
  • Tortilla Jo’s: This is where you can find delicious Mexican food! They have great tacos and burritos, and you can order table-side guacamole that they will make to your liking! They have brunch, too! Saturday and Sunday – 10 am-2 pm!

Quick Service

  • Starbucks: You can get your morning coffee here and even pick up a breakfast sandwich! The best thing about this Starbucks is that you can do a mobile order when you park your car and it should be done by the time you get there!
  • Earl Of Sandwich: This is a great place to get a quick bite! They are famous for their delicious sandwiches but they also have soups and sandwiches!
  • CrazyShake™ Window by Black Tap: This is a pick-up window right next to Black Tap where you can get one of their Crazy shakes or one of their classic shakes.
  • Beignets Expressed: This is where you can find beignets and mint juleps outside Disneyland Park! The beignets are not mickey shaped but they are still very yummy!
  • Napolini Pizzeria: This is where you can get a 10-inch pizza on the go. They also have Italian Gelato and you can even get a glass of wine!
  • Taqueria at Tortilla Jo’s: You can pick from a burrito, nachos, tacos, or a bowl and it is made right in front of you!
  • Wetzel’s Pretzels: You can get their famous pretzels and lemonade in two places at Downtown Disney! On top of the walk-in one, they have a cart!
  • Salt & Straw: This is where you can get super yummy ice cream! They have unique classic flavors like Pear and Blue Cheese and Salted Malted Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough but they will have five new flavors that change out every month!
  • Blue Ribbon Corn Dog: This is where you can get corn dogs at! They are made right in front of you and are very yummy! They also have monthly special corn dogs as well!
  • Jamba: You can grab one of their famous smoothies or bowls here! They even have sandwiches flatbreads, and paninis!
  • Diggity Dogs: Here you can the classic all-beef hot dog, a bag of chips, cookies, and an ice-cold beverage!
  • Kayla’s Cakes: This cart is so popular that they have one in Disney California Adventure! You can get different kinds of Macarons and Cakes in a jar!
This is the Downtown Disney entrance that you will enter in if you walk from the Mickey and Friends parking garage.

When does Downtown Disney open?

Downtown Disney opens at 7 am and closes at 1 am every day. Most of the stores don’t open until 9 am. The table-service restaurants open between 10:30 am – 12 pm and the quick-service restaurants open between 7 am and 10 am.
