Delta Hotels by Marriott in Garden Grove, California is one of the neighboring hotels to the Disneyland Resort. It is close to the parks. Target and different kinds of restaurants are near the hotel. We had an opportunity to stay here and here we will give you our honest review of the hotel.
Delta Hotels By Marriott is an older hotel that was remodeled when Marriot bought it in 2018. It is located in Garden Grove, California. The hotel is about a ten-minute drive from the Parks and a five-minute drive from the Anaheim Convention Center. Even though it is not right next to the Disneyland Resort, it is an ideal location because of what is right next to it.
Next to the hotel, there are four restaurants. Red Robin, Joe’s Crab Shack, Outback Steakhouse, and Oggi’s Pizza & Brewing Co. Across the street is Target (we love doing pick-up orders on the Target app!), Raising Cane’s, 7 Leaves Cafe, and Coco’s Bakery.
Our Room
We stayed in a Guest Room with 2 Queen beds. They also have a room with 1 King bed (with or without a sofa bed) and a suite that has a King bed, sofa bed, and a separate sitting area. We had three people in our room but all of the guest rooms can sleep four. Each room has a mini fridge and a coffee/tea maker. There is a 24/7 fitness center, a pool, and a hot tub.
We loved how comfortable the beds were and the sheets were soft! Another thing we loved was how thick the towels were. The main issue we had with our room was the stains. We found stains on the carpet and on the wall next to the TV. It looked like someone had splashed on the wall and it stained the wallpaper.
Parking
The parking was not the greatest. With a $25 fee per night, we would have hoped for a better experience. There are limited spots in front of the hotel and the rest of the parking is in the back of the hotel. It is a long walk to the hotel depending on how far you have to park. The lighting in the back felt unsafe and the pavement was in bad condition so it made it difficult to push our luggage.
On-Site Food Options
There is no free breakfast but there is a breakfast buffet that you can pay for. The prices start at $19.99. If you are a Marriott Bonvoy™ Platinum, Titanium, or Ambassador Elite Member, you can get two vouchers for each day you are staying. Instead of the vouchers, you can pick an entry to the Delta Pantry which has an on-the-go continental breakfast, snacks like different fruits, Chex Mix, and mixed nuts, and beverages like sodas, bottled waters, coffee, and juices. There were no hours listed so we would assume that it is open 24/7.
They have a Starbucks on-site that sells all of their popular drinks and pastries but they also sell sandwiches, salads, fruit cups, yogurts, and bottled beverages. It is open from 6 am to 6 pm every day.
There was an on-site restaurant and bar (California Grill and Wine Down) but we did not see it open while we were on our trip in October 2023.
Does Delta Hotels By Marroit have a Disneyland Shuttle?
They do not have a hotel shuttle to Disneyland but don’t worry! You can jump on the Anaheim Regional Transportation (ART) bus that has a stop right next to the entrance of the hotel. It will take you right to the Disneyland Resort. Download the Token Transit app to buy your pass before you get on the bus. You can also find out how far the bus is to your stop.
Pros of Delta Hotels By Marriot
- Delta Pantry: We absolutely loved this! It was nice to be able to get drinks and snacks during the day. The on-the-go breakfast was convenient!
- The price: When we booked this hotel, it was the cheapest one by Disneyland. Our go-to hotels were over $300 a night but this one was $130 to $189 per night so we appreciate that.
- The beds: We have stayed at a lot of different hotels in and around Disneyland and this had to be one of the best beds that we have had. They were very comfortable and even though the pillows were a little flat, the sheets were very nice.
Cons of Delta Hotels By Marriot
- The hotel was dirty. Other than the stains in our hotel room, we noticed that the furniture in the lobby and outside of the Delta Pantry was dirty. We didn’t think a simple cleaning would work for them … they looked like they needed to be completely replaced.
- The parking: The price tag of $25 each night and it wasn’t a pleasant experience dealing with the parking. The lack of lighting in the back parking area made us feel very unsafe.
- The lack of luggage carts: We could only see three carts in total for this huge hotel. After trying for a while on Saturday morning (when we were checking out), we finally found one. By the time we were packing up our car, there were already other guests waiting for the cart.
Would we recommend staying at Delta Hotels By Marriot?
Yes, we would recommend this hotel. Even with the lack of cleanliness in certain areas and the parking, the price, location, and beds were worth it. Another great thing about this hotel was how friendly the staff was. We asked for a room that was close to the elevator and they were able to do that. This was the first time we were asked if we wanted late check-out. We appreciate that. We also loved that the standard check-out is 12 p.m. That is later than most hotels we have stayed in.
